Novel Sym­me­tric Cryp­t­ana­ly­tic Tech­ni­ques Over GF(2)

In this dis­ser­ta­ti­on, novel ideas re­gar­ding sym­me­tric cryp­t­ana­ly­sis are in­ves­ti­ga­ted. These are im­portant to eit­her break ciph­ers or re-eva­lua­te the se­cu­ri­ty of exis­ting ones.

A spe­cial em­pha­sis is put on ma­the­ma­ti­cal mo­del­ling and ma­the­ma­ti­cal equa­ti­on sol­ving. This in­clu­des, but is not li­mi­ted to li­ne­ar al­ge­bra over fi­ni­te fields, mul­ti­va­ria­te sys­tems of equa­ti­ons, and other re­pre­sen­ta­ti­on tech­ni­ques for func­tions over fi­ni­te do­mains. The work will be car­ried out in close col­la­bo­ra­ti­on with other groups wi­t­hin the HGI, in par­ti­cu­lar with cryp­t­ana­ly­tic tech­ni­ques and hard­ware im­ple­men­ta­ti­on of at­tacks.
